The collection contains two handwritten sermons, including a sermon on "Predestination" delivered at Anderson, South Carolina, 2 April 1889 and a sermon on "Confession of Faith," 21 May 1879; photocopies of an address on the "Literary Merit of the Bible" delivered before "The Two Literary Societies of Davidson College, N.C.," 1858; an essay on the "Practical Treatment of the Mode of Baptism," 1891; and handwritten "Autobiographical Notes," 1859-1861.
